Usually the first sign you have something uninvited living above your heads are that you here noises and depending on what the noises are and when you hear them will depend on the Temecula animal making them. Different animals have different habits and that means they will make different noises at different times of the day and night. The most likely animal you are to getting in your attic are squirrels, they can squeeze through tiny little holes and they love attics as they are both warm and dry. The most likely squirrel to move into your attic is a mother squirrel looking for a place to give birth and then raise her young.

Squirrels make most of their noise during the day, because Temecula squirrels are rodents they tend to chew a lot and that is one thing you don't want to happen in your attic, they can chew their way in and once inside they are also likely to chew the wood and electrical wiring. If you let a squirrel living your attic it will return year after year, doing more more damage each time. So if you have a noise that sounds mostly like the fast scamper and not much else that is made during the day that is most likely you have squirrels in your attic. The next major pest for your attic would be a California raccoon, raccoons also like attics for the same reason the squirrels and again the most likely raccoon to take up residence is a female raccoon, also to give birth in to raise her young. Raccoons are of course much larger than a squirrel, weighing in at up to 25 pounds the damage they can do in an attic is commensurate with their size, in other words huge. Raccoons are nocturnal animals so all the noises you hear out of them are made at night, but being a large animal the noises are more like loud thumping then scampering, raccoons will also vocalize a lot, mostly chattering or growling from the adults, the babies have their own distinctive noises. The biggest problem was raccoons is when they decide to tear a hole into your attic it's a big hole. The other main pests you get in the attic are Temecula rats and mice, both of which are rodents and have to chew constantly to wear down the front teeth and sound more like squirrels and raccoons, both these species breed prolifically so if you don't get on top of of them fast there will be hundreds to deal with in a short order.
